Dr. Seifert's surgical interests are in complex coronary artery revascularization. Initially, his coronary artery bypass procedures were done in the conventional fashion using the heart lung machine and an arrested heart. Over the last 5 years he has transitioned to the off pump beating heart procedure and is currently able to offer over 90% of his patients the beating heart technique. He is well recognized as a leader in this area. He is also extensively trained in valve repair and is able to offer complex mitral valve reconstruction, as well as conventional valve replacements. An additional area of interest is in the surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation.
