Practice Background: Practice Background: Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Vellinga of Wisconsin Heart & Vascular Clinics! Dr. Vellinga was recently named to the "Best Doctors of 2004" list published in Milwaukee Magazine in its July 2004 issue. This was the magazine’s fifth Top Doctors survey as Milwaukee physicians selected 250 doctors in 25 specialties – the best of the best. Dr. Vellinga’s selection by his peers is merely the latest indicator of the outstanding, dedicated service that he provides to patients entrusted to his care. As a member of the team at Wisconsin Heart and Vascular Clinics, Dr. Timothy Vellinga is a cardiovascular interventionalist. He served as Medical Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Luke's Medical Center from 1996-2000. Dr. Vellinga has board certification in Internal Medicine (1986) along with specialty board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases (1991) and subspecialty board certification in Interventional Cardiology (1999). A 1982 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa, Dr. Vellinga completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (1983-86) and completed his Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases also at the Medical College of Wisconsin (1987-1990). Dr. Vellinga is a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Milwaukee County Medical Association , the State Medical Society of Wisconsin and the American Heart Association.
