James C. Wynsen, M.D., an interventional cardiologist, joined Wisconsin Heart Group on September 1, 2003.  Although Dr. Wynsen most recently practiced in Gurnee, Illinois, he has strong ties to Wisconsin.

After completing his Cardiology Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1989, Dr. Wynsen remained at the Medical College as an Associate Professor of Medicine in Cardiology and Hypertension.  In 1996 he served as the Associate Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Training program at the Medical College as well as the Director of the Echo Lab at the Zablocki VA Medical Center.

Dr. Wynsen has co-authored numerous Original Papers and Abstracts and contributed four chapters in Kochar's Concise Textbook of Medicine.
