Dr. Ashpole focuses on preventive care and consultation in his practice of cardiovascular medicine. An experienced interventional cardiologist specializing in drug eluting stents, he has performed thousands of cardiac procedures since his first heart cath in 1985 as a cardiology fellow at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.
He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology (2000), Cardiovascular Diseases (1987) and Internal Medicine (1985). He is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and the Society for Coronary Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI) and is also a member of the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE).

Dr. Ashpole has research experience in risk factor modification (MRFIT), heart attack (TIMI II) and congestive heart failure (SOLVD). He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1982 and completed residency in Internal Medicine in 1985 at the SW Michigan Health Education Center in Kalamazoo, MI.

He is currently president of Wisconsin Heart & Vascular Clinics and a member of the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Heart Hospital (TWHH). A leader in quality improvement, most recently he chaired the Performance Improvement Committee at the Department of Cardiology while at TWHH and previously served as Quality Improvement Director and later Chairman of the Department of Cardiology while at St. Luke’s Medical Center.
